The Ars waterfall is a site of special interest. With its 246 metres high, it is beautiful from May to June, when the snow is starting to thaw. An hiking path for the whole family.

Access :

From Saint-Girons, take the D618 up to Oust, then the D32 to Aulus-Les-Bains. From Aulus, take the D8, on your right, on the direction to the "col de Latrape". Park your car at about 200 metres drive, up to the first bend.

Your itinary step by step

0.00 A - At the first hairpin bend, take the path on your left through the forest and pasture land. At the crossroad :
0.35 B - Track of the Fouillet : Do not take that path, keep on straight on, on the main path.
0.40 C - You will arrive to the GR10 on your left, then straight on; further on, you overlook a narrow gorge situated on your left, le Pas d'Enfer and you can admire some dug rock corridors, widened by avalanches.
Just before the end of the track, fisrt view over the waterfall, then you will take the path on your left, up to the footbridge of l'Artigous (1060 m).
0.55 D - Once pass the bridge, the rest of the hike will take on on the right bank of the Ars stream. You will pass through a beech grove and numerous raspberry bushes.

1.50 E - You can see the waterfall on your right. Keep on walking to reach the 110 metres high fall. Return by the same way.

Other return by the GR 10 :

0.40 - Go down to the right up to a former tound building. You are in le Pradis
0.55 - Prabis : a former charcoal oven; keep on working and cross the Garbet stream at the Pont de la Mouline, 200 m further on
1.20 - bifurcation of the GR10, keep on walking straight on following a track which goes up slightly
1.30 - Road D8 : go down on your left towards Aulus village, cross the Garbet stream and go up to the departure point.
